Several highlights of the years 1972- 2011:
June 12, 1972 SC Chapter formed
Oct. 10, 1973 Helped to form the provincial STS
1974 Working towards a minimum monthly pension of $10.00 multiplied by the number of years taught.
1976 The idea of preserving autobiographies was born
1978 Floyd Johnston passed away.
1979 A panel presented “Why Should I Join the Local STS?”
1981 Superannuation cheques were hand-delivered during the mail strike.
1982 Became involved with the Meals-on-Wheels program.
1983 Shared the June Picnic with the Rosetown Chapter
1984 Investigated Teachers’ housing Projects in Regina and Moose Jaw.
1988 Hosted Provincial STS Curling in Herbert
1988 Chapter’s newsletter is born
1992 Hosted Provincial STS Golf Tournament.
1994 (Oct 6 & 7) Hosted Provinical Bridge Tournament
1994 Our newsletter was named "In Touch"
1995 (May) Our Chapter researched Housing for Seniors
1995 (May) Hosted a Retirement Lifestyle Seminar
1995 (Oct 4 & 5) Hosted Provincial Bridge Tournament
1995 Became involved in delivering Meals on Wheels
1996 (Aug 27) Held the first "To Heck with the Bell" breakfast
